Cute Pilgrimage Experience

If you walk around the perimeter of the Eternal Sutra Ossuary (Banreido), you will see stone paths filled with sand from the 88 sacred sites of Shikoku that you can visit on your Shikoku pilgrimage. If you look up, you will see the main deity enshrined at each temple. Walking clockwise from the first temple, it takes less than a minute. This is why the tour is called the Cute 88 Sacred Sites Tour.

Kobo Daishi

The 3-meter tall statue of Shugyodaishi was enshrined above the Eitaikyo Ossuary (Banreido) in 1936 with the skill of Kondo Taizan, a Buddhist priest in Iyo Saijo, on the occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of Kobo Daishi in 1934.

2024
An unprecedented new mausoleum
that reminds us of the connection
of life through prayer.

The final resting place for the spirits of ancestors. It is a space where people can take refuge in this precious world itself and make memorial services. How can we claim the true permanence of Eternal? After 100 years of operating the Eitaikyo Ossuary, Kwanchiin's mission is again to provide a place where the owner can enjoy the highest peace of mind and a place where they can find a spiritual home. The year 2023 marks the 1,250th anniversary of the birth of Kobo-Daishi Kukai, the founder of the sect. Therefore, we have decided to build the New Mausoleum Aaloka in order to present a conclusion on the form of permanent burial and to celebrate and consecrate the birth of the great master.

The orthodox form of Eternal Bone Repose. With a style that has never been seen before, New Mausoleum Aaloka transcends the distinction between a grave and an ossuary. The New Mausoleum Aaloka transcends the distinction between graves and ossuaries in a style not seen in conventional ossuaries. The temple also offers services such as the Buddhist memorial service for the anniversary of the death of the deceased. We want the bereaved family to be as healthy as possible so that ancestral memorial services can be carried on for a long time. We also want the bereaved to feel the importance of Buddhist and Buddhist memorial services and to pass them on. The New Mausoleum Aaloka will pray for the bereaved family members' health and prolong their lives, and promote their spirits to be sharpened and lifted up now. It should be such a superspace that prays not only for the memorial service for ancestors, but also for the soundness of mind and body of the bereaved family members. The starting point and the end point. The New Mausoleum Aaloka is the final form of the bone-ceremony style. In this way, Zentsuji will become a true Pure Land.
Finally, it was completed in the summer of 2024. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
